About Me

Hi,

My name is Heather, I am a well educated dedicated mother, wife, teacher, mentor, therapist, student and many more titles. I have a dual Bachelors in Education and Psychology, a teaching license in Secondary education focusing on history, math, science and technology. I have a Masters in Education Leadership Administration and a Masters in Psychology and a PhD in Education.

I was diagnosed in 2004 with fibromyalgia, however I have always felt there was more going on than just that. Some doctors believe that this is a real disease, some believe that it is a symptom of another disease and some believe it is just a fake disease that doctors put a title on something when they can't figure something out. I truly believe it is two of these three, I believe it is very real (I live with it every day), however it also makes sense to me that it could be a symptom of something else. Many times fibro turns out to be MS in the long run, I do not have the exact stats on this right now, but more research is being done to see how these do actually correlate.

I have two daughter that are 12 and 9. They keep me busy with their school work, extra activities, friends, and activities out side of school, There is never a dull moment. My girls play instruments, violin, piano, cello and drums. They ride horses and show them as well and both love gymnastics and everything that goes along with it. My oldest daughter has been diagnosed with non focal seizures and TBI, long and short her short term memory is very little and is not there most of the time. This has been a challenge in school, but with lots of hard work and dedication by her and her teachers we got a plan together and it has been working wonderful and I am so proud of her and what she has been able to accomplish. My youngest daughter has had heavy reading problems that has stressed her out when it comes to school, however she soars in math. She is boarder line autistic and has dyslexia. She has had to over come bullying in school and being an outcast, she has had to learn how to stand up for herself and speak up when someone was being mean in school. We have been working on that, and she has comes strides in a short time... She is a very strong girl and will go far in life.

If you didn't think I didn't have enough medical stress in my life my husband was diagnosed a year ago with MS, he had been in remission, however the past month or so has been a rough ride. I am so proud of him as well not giving up and pushing through it on a daily basis, he is my true hero in life.

I teach college classes for a few online school, I also write curriculum and classes for many schools at the k-12, college and corporation levels and love every minute of it. I am big into cross stitching, zumba workouts and shooting my pistols whenever I am able. Talk about a stress relief!!!!

If you are struggling with any of this same things I am, I hope that some of what I write about helps you. I wish I would have started this sooner, but I can't go on the what if's I have to go on the nows and future.
